The Tar Topper™ D/E is designed to impart a correct vintage tar top appearance to modern Group 24 flat top batteries, making it an ideal finishing touch for classic restorations.
This model fits virtually all Delco, Exide, and NAPA Group 24 flat top, maintenance-free batteries that retain original terminal spacing. The Tar Topper™ D/E features a molded lip that extends approximately 1/2 inch over the top of the battery, creating a convincing period-correct look when installed.
Constructed from .090" temperature-resistant ABS, the Tar Topper™ D/E can be easily trimmed if needed for optimal fit in certain applications. The top dimensions are identical to an original Group 24 battery, allowing the use of original-style hold-downs, including GM perimeter-style clamps.
Minor trimming may be required when installing on some late-model Delco Group 24 batteries. Exide and NAPA Group 24 batteries are typically unaffected.
